We have begun our preparations for the spring season and we are so happy to be back singing together again, albeit very differently than before.
With the lockdown extended, we will begin with virtual rehearsals, and perhaps that is the way it will be for the whole season. No matter, we need to sing, so we will do what it takes!
We have plans for a spring concert, and it may be in person, or it may be virtual. We are preparing for either scenario. Stay tuned as we continue to search for possibilities!
Stay well, and sing for your good health!
We pretty much knew that our concerts would be cancelled this fall, but we were somewhat hoping that some of the outdoor concerts would be allowed, but alas, no. So, in addition to the two Remembrance Day concerts at the Legislature, the Christmas Carillon at the BC Museum has also been cancelled. It is also doubtful that our usual outdoor caroling at the central library will be happening.
Despite all this, we continue to learn new pieces to keep our voices in good shape, with strong covid strategies in place, of course.
We have a virtual concert in our plans, but that is not definite, so stay tuned for news of that. Most likely it will be streamed from our Facebook page, if it happens at all.
In the meantime, stay safe and stay singing!
After cancelling the 2020 spring season and concert, how do we move forward as a choir that loves to sing together and share the joy?
The choir is exploring all the options, including distanced sectionals, virtual ear-training and virtual concerts. We’re making it up as we go along, but we are definitely willing to figure it out!
You can’t keep a good choir down!
